2025 Marshalltown Baseball Club REC - Little League Registration Preschool - 7th Grade (Ages 4 - 14)

Tee Ball - Pre-School - Kindergarten (4 - 6 Year Old) Division

In MBC / Little League Tee Ball, expectations revolve around creating a positive and enjoyable introduction to the game of baseball for young players. Coaches and parents are encouraged to foster a supportive environment that emphasizes fundamental skills such as hitting, catching, and teamwork. Players are expected to demonstrate sportsmanship, respect for their teammates and opponents, and a willingness to learn. While competition is a part of the experience, the primary focus is on skill development, having fun, and building a love for the game. By encouraging participation and celebrating small achievements, Tee Ball aims to instill confidence and a sense of belonging in every young athlete.

Pitching Machine - 1st - 2nd Grade (7 - 8 Year Old) Division

The goals of the pitching machine MBC / Little League program for 1st and 2nd graders are centered on skill development, confidence building, and fostering a love for the game of baseball. By utilizing pitching machines, young players can practice their hitting techniques in a controlled environment, allowing them to focus on making solid contact with the ball without the unpredictability of live pitching. This approach helps to improve their timing, hand-eye coordination, and overall batting skills. Additionally, the program aims to teach the fundamentals of teamwork and sportsmanship, encouraging players to support one another and enjoy the camaraderie of being part of a team. Ultimately, the objective is to create a fun and engaging atmosphere where children can learn the basics of baseball while developing a lifelong passion for the sport.

Scholarship Opportunities

The Marshalltown Baseball Club / Little League is committed to ensuring that every child who wants to play baseball has the opportunity to do so, regardless of financial barriers. To support this mission we are exploring three potential avenues to help offset costs for families.

1. Scholarships:
We are offering a limited number of scholarships that will cover part of the registration fees for those in need.  The initiative aims to make baseball accessible to all children in our community who demonstrate a passion for the sport.

2. Partnership with Marshalltown Youth Foundation: https://www.marshalltownyouthfoundation.org
We are partnering with the Marshalltown Youth Foundation to provide additional resources and funding. This
collaboration will help us extend our reach and offer more financial assistance to families who may struggle with the costs associated with youth baseball.

3. Volunteer Opportunities:  We are also considering the possibility of volunteer roles that can help offset costs.  Families willing to contribute their time and skills at the club may receive discounts on registration fees, making it easier for their children to participate.

If you would like to learn more about these opportunities or if you have questions, please reach out to us. We are here to help ensure that every child in Marshalltown has the chance to play baseball and enjoy the valuable experience that  comes with being part of a team.
